A celebration of riding, progression, and community.

What would make today a great day on your snowboard?

Maybe it’s laying trenches across morning corduroy. Finding flow through steep, technical terrain. Learning something new in the park. Hiking to a line you’ve looked at all season. Or spending the afternoon chasing natural features with a crew that makes you want to take one more lap.

The Gathering | Freeride 3.0 is a two-day freeride snowboard workshop dedicated to a simple idea: you get to decide what progression looks like.

Rather than following one curriculum, each day you’ll choose from different riding environments led by coaches who specialize in them. Carving, freestyle, off-piste, steeps, natural terrain, the mountain, the conditions, and the interests of the group will help shape the possibilities.

Once you choose your direction, you’ll head out in a small group with a coach whose job goes beyond teaching technique. Together, you’ll identify what would make the day meaningful and use coaching, terrain, experimentation, and the energy of the group to help create an experience worth remembering.

Where Progression Becomes Experience

At The Gathering, progression isn’t defined by checking another skill off a list.

It might be finally riding a line you’ve looked at all season. Landing something you’ve been chasing. Finding a new feeling on your snowboard. Exploring a part of Palisades you’ve never seen. Or simply recognizing that something which once felt difficult now feels natural.

At the end of each day, the individual groups come back together. We’ll share what happened, celebrate the breakthroughs, hear the stories from other parts of the mountain, and reflect on where our riding has taken us. On Day 2, that gathering continues into a post-ride après experience, giving us a chance to celebrate not only the event, but the season that brought us here.

Spring may signal that winter is winding down, but progression doesn’t have an off-season. Sometimes one memorable experience is all it takes to remind you how much you’ve grown, and leave you excited about where you want to go next.

This workshop has a minimum participation of 4 persons to operate, if minimum participation is not met within 14 days of the start date you will receive a full refund.

Thursday | Find Your Experience

Meet at Palisades Tahoe at 8:30 AM.

We’ll start together, meet the coaching team, talk about conditions, and explore the possibilities for the day. Each coach will introduce the environment they’re heading into and the kinds of experiences we might pursue there.

Then, you choose.

Maybe you want to carve. Maybe the park is calling. Maybe conditions are lining up for an off-piste objective, or you want to explore steeps and natural features. You’ll join a small group based on what inspires you and head onto the mountain with a coach who specializes in that environment. From there, the experience becomes your own. Your coach will help the group identify goals, explore possibilities, and use the terrain and conditions to create opportunities for progression throughout the day.

At the end of the day, everyone comes back together for a group debrief. We’ll share stories, discoveries, breakthroughs, and probably a few things that didn’t go according to plan.

Sometimes hearing what happened in another group is exactly what inspires tomorrow’s adventure.

Friday | Do It Again, BUT Differently

Meet at Palisades Tahoe at 8:30 AM.

We’ll start together again, but you don’t have to pick the same path.

Return to something you want another shot at, take yesterday’s discoveries further, or choose an entirely different environment. The goal is to follow the progression that feels most meaningful to you. Throughout the day, coaches will continue facilitating experiences around the goals of each group, using the conditions and terrain available to determine where those opportunities might lead.

Before the lifts close, everyone will come back together for a final party shred and a post-ride après hang hosted by Progression Sessions.

We’ll trade stories from the day, celebrate the moments that made the event memorable, and reflect on a season of riding, learning, and progression.

Different paths. Different experiences. One Gathering.
