Mt Bachelor = SNOWBOARDING. In every direction there are shapes to interact with… wind lips, cat drops, spines, hips, and perfectly spaced trees. Bachelor is covered in “SUPERNATURAL” terrain at a pitch that inspires confidence, couple that with the best terrain park in the Pacific Northwest and you have an unbeatable recipe for progression.

Mt Bachelor Info

In this session our mission is to develop your skills so you can get creative wherever you’re snowboard journey may take you. Through a sequence of specially designed clinics you’ll learn how to: Read and predict terrain changes, blend speed with shape for smooth transitions, plan and commit to a line, and apply tricks to a variety of features. By the end of the session you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to ride the whole mountain like ONE BIG TERRAIN PARK.

Our journey starts at the Bend/Redmond (RDM) airport, where we’ll pick you up and take you to our private lodge in Sunriver Oregon and yes we have a hot tub. If flying’s not your thing, you can meet us in Sunriver where you can park your car and leave the rest of the driving to us.

Off hill we’ll support your adventure with hearty breakfasts, family style feasts, and fun après activities like; video review sessions, game nights, pool parties, and technical discussions. Please review the Day By Day tab for an in-depth break down of each day.

This is a high intermediate to expert Snowboard session, to attend participants must be able to safely make turns on black groomed terrain. This session has a minimum participation of 4 persons to operate, if minimum participation is not met within 30 days of travel you will receive a full refund, or you can elect to convert your reservation to a private or semi private session.

Day 1, Sunday, Arrival Day

Arrive at RDM by 4pm, or Sunriver by 5:30pm. Coaches will host a social dinner where we’ll discuss the week ahead, afterwards you’ll have a chance to work with your coach to dial in your gear and chat about your ambitions for the week.

Day 2, Monday, The Mountain and You

After a hearty breakfast it’s off to the mountain. You’ll spend the day with your coach exploring Mt Bachelor’s 4300 acres of terrain. The goal on this day is to understand the mountain… Bachelor is HUGE and it’s easy to feel lost so we’ll going to take our time, connecting landmarks to their position on the Trail Map, identifying where the snow loads and where the winds scour it, getting our first look at the natural and manmade shapes that make Bachelor such an amazing canvas for creativity. Our second goal for this day is to get to know your style “what feels good to you” so we can better connect what we teach to what you already know and enjoy.

After boarding we’ll head back to Sunriver for a Pizza Party at our lodge followed by a video review session where you’re the star!

Day 3, Tuesday, Hard Core Parkour

Parkour is the art of freestyle running, (here’s a video if you don’t know what this is) In this sport athletes use solid objects like walls and beams to redirect their own momentum, allowing them to scale walls, jump over gaps, and slide down buildings like a superhero without getting hurt… We’re going to take a tip from this sport and do “the deep dive” on blending outside influences and our given momentum to ride over, off of, and away from a variety of features. Buy the end of the day we should be able to create a predictable path off a cornice, over a wind lip, through a gully, etc. by catching or creating a smooth transition between pitches.

After boarding we’re back home for Après at the Sunriver Tap Room (Voted Oregon’s Best Brewery) followed by dinner in the Village.

Day 4, Wednesday, Trees, Trees, Trees…

We’re human and trees aren’t so if we hit one it hurts, lucky for us Bachelor is covered in perfectly spaced trees where we can focus on riding the gaps. We’re spending a day on this because planning and committing to a line is a major part in executing any “Cool Trick” where a feature is involved. Assuming all goes well, we will take our efforts one step further and use the trees themselves as objects for self expression.

After boarding we’re off to Bend for a little more inspiration at Vector Volcano and dinner in town.

Day 5, Thursday, Park, Pipe, and Air

We’re sleeping in… that’s right you deserve it! This time of year Bachelor’s Parks soften up around 11am, so we’re taking advantage of this and giving our bodies a little extra rest. We’re doing this because once we get to the mountain our focus is “Air Time”, We’ve built up our skills and now it’s time to get sendy with style. We’ll start in the park and if conditions are good we’ll take our pursuit for flight to the mountain at large. We’ll also make a special effort to capture video this day for later review on the big screen.

After snowboarding we’re in for a night focused on leisure and recovery, you’ll have the option to visit the village’s indoor Olympic sized pool, take a dip in the spa, or just rest. Over a social dinner we’ll host a final video review session.

Day 6, Friday, Last Call

For our final day on the mountain we’re keeping it loose. By now we’re good friends, strong riders, and our ambitions are clear. After the lifts shut down we’ll grab a quick après beverage at The Rock Bar to celebrate our week. After we’ll head down the hill  to continue the celebration in Sunriver.

Day 7, Saturday, Departure Day

All good things must come to an end (at least a temporary one). We ask that you schedule your departing flight out of Redmond after 8:30am. Coaches will make sure you are at the Airport at least 90min minutes before your flight departs.
