Take Your Off-Piste Riding to the Next Level in the Chilean Andes

This guided snowboard camp in Chile is designed to help advanced to expert riders develop the essential skills for confidently navigating steep terrain, off-piste bowls, and freeride lines.

In this progressive snowboard coaching session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Ride surface lifts like T-Bars, detachable Pomas, and the legendary Roca Jack in Portillo.

  • Apply large-radius turns to open powder bowls.

  • Use short-radius and hop turns to tackle steep chutes.

  • Read snow load and wind patterns to track down hidden stashes.

  • Add style and flow by projecting momentum from turn to turn.

  • Adapt your turn shape to match terrain and ride faster with greater control.

Our journey begins in the Tres Valles region near Santiago, where we’ll ride Valle Nevado, El Colorado, and La Parva. Each resort provides unique terrain that builds your freeride foundation step by step. We’ll finish with a deep dive into the iconic Portillo ski resort, one of the world’s most historic freeride destinations, before wrapping the adventure with a cultural day exploring Santiago, Chile.

This Andes Session is the first of two Chilean snowboard camps we’re offering this August. The second, Volcanos, takes riders to more remote resorts and extreme lines. Combine both trips for the ultimate freeride adventure in Chile.

This camp is open to high-intermediate and advanced snowboarders and skiers. After registration, we’ll connect with you directly to confirm your readiness and ensure you’re prepared to fully enjoy everything the Chilean Andes has to offer.

This premier session has a minimum participation of 6 persons to operate, if minimum participation is not met within 45 days of travel you will receive a full refund, or you can elect to convert your reservation to a private or semi private session.

IKON Pass holders recieve a $200 discount.

Day 1, Sunday, Arrival Day and Valle Nevado

Arrive at SCL Airport by 9am, once the whole team’s together we’re off to Valle Nevado for a fun afternoon snowboarding the day you arrive! Our mission on the mountain is acclimation, focusing on snow, surface, and reading terrain. After riding we’ll check into our apartment in La Parva’s Village, then grab an easy dinner nearby.

Day 2, Monday, La Parva, Short turns, Big Turns, Short Turns, and Pomas

There’s a chance we may wake up to fresh snow, so we’re gonna get moving early! Luckily we’re staying just steps away from the AlphaChair lift and the Ticket Window. La Parva has everything from chill groomers, to expert side country. Our focus this day is “snow load” and “turn shape”, so you can make thoughtful decisions on where to place your turns for a most elegant collaboration between you and the mountain… AKA “STYLE”. After riding well head to nearby El Colorado’s Village for Chilean Italian fusion.

Day 3, Tuesday, Ride El Colorado, Stability off piste, recovery techniques, more T-bars and Poma Lifts

El Colorado mountain is known for its dynamic terrain, abundance of surface lifts, and a decent terrain park. This will be a great place for us to easily access the slopes while providing the right terrain for us to refine our turns on a variety of terrain and snow surfaces. Tuesday’s morning clinic will focus on maintaining stability from the feet up no matter what the terrain throws at us. We’ll explore tactics to promote stability and recover if we start getting out of balance, we’ll incorporate these tactics into your turns to get you moving smoothly down the mountain with less hiccups. In the afternoon you’ll have the option to find less conventional lines, carve it up, or take it to Valle. We’ll head back to La Parva for a costume change and a family style fondue fiesta at Marmita de Pericles.

Day 4, Wednesday, Dealers Choice ??

This day we’ll be revisiting a resort, location TBD, “whatever we decide as a group would be the most fun!” By this point you should have a head full of new knowledge and some new skills to prove it, this day you will have the opportunity to spend some less structured time with your coach, or if you need a break this will be a great opportunity to rest your legs and take it easy. After snowboarding it’s dinner at La Montanes for more of a celibratory dining experience.

Day 5, Wednesday, Ride La Parva, advanced and expert terrain.

Here is where two days of training are tested and refined, if conditions are prime La Parva has the most challenging inbounds terrain of the 3 resorts in the Tres Valles, while still maintaining plenty of intermediate terrain for anyone who would prefer to take it easy. The Valley of Fabres (Zona de Freeskiing), and the hike to terrain of La Chiminiea (Most Extreme) may also become a possiblity. After riding we’ll head down the hill to Santiago where will check into our nice hotel and get to bed early for our final shred-venture.

Day 6, Friday, Ride Portillo

We’ll wake up early, enjoy a big breakfast at our hotel and hit the road for Portillo. This day will be all about exploring the nooks and crannies of this legendary destination. Test your poma skills on the “Roca Jack”, ride down to the lake, enjoy a nice lunch at Tio Bobs, and get that final clip for the Instagram. After riding we’ll head back to Santiago, get cleaned up, and hit the town for a final dinner celebration!

Day 7, Saturday, Tour Santiago, Departure Day

We’ll spend the day as cosmopolitan Chileans do, eating good food, drinking vino, and looking fancy. We’ll start the day with a big Brunch, this will be a good chance to share stories and celebrate accomplishments. Afterwards will hit the pavement and check out the sights and sounds of downtown Santiago. Most flights back to the northern hemisphere from SCL depart in the evening so this should give us plenty of time to see the town and buy any last souvenirs.
