6 Days of Freeride Shreducation in the Heart of the WILD Wasatch.

We choose terrain with intention… and the Northern Wasatch gives us a lot to choose from. We’ll start close to home at Nordic Valley, a small, local mountain most traveling riders would never think to visit. Then there’s Powder Mountain: 8,000+ acres of glades, bowls, chutes, sidecountry, and hike-to terrain with seemingly endless places to explore. And a reputation for holding soft snow long after Utah’s bigger names have been tracked out. At Snowbasin, 3,000 vertical feet of fast lifts, open bowls, gullies, glades, and serious steeps give even accomplished freeriders plenty of room to be challenged.

Together, these three mountains become one progressive classroom. We can experiment somewhere quiet, hunt for soft snow, introduce new terrain, build confidence in the trees, explore human-powered access, and step into something bigger when you’re ready for it. The objective isn’t harder terrain for the sake of harder terrain. It’s using the right terrain at the right moment to build the skills, awareness, and confidence that unlock access to more.

Expect trees, steeps, powder, variable snow, natural features, video analysis, avalanche education, and opportunities to earn a few turns under your own power.

But Wild Wasatch doesn’t end when the lifts stop spinning.

For seven nights, our group takes over a 7,000+ square-foot private lodge in Eden, with nine bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a private hot tub waiting at the end of the day. We’ll start our mornings over breakfast, spend our days on snow, and come back together each evening for dinner, video review, conversation, and whatever stories the day created.

That time together matters. A fully hosted week gives us the freedom to focus on why we’re here: riding, progression, and community. Our coaches get to know how you ride, where you’re succeeding, and where the next opportunity might be. Video, conversation, recovery, and time with the group all become part of the process. Together, they prepare you for the next challenge. The result is an experience built around your progression, expert coaching, small groups, carefully chosen terrain, and the flexibility to respond to conditions and opportunities as they unfold.

We call it shreducation: serious progression without taking ourselves too seriously.

Come ready to explore, contribute, and ride a lot.

We’ll take care of the rest.

This premier session has a minimum participation of 8 persons to operate, if minimum participation is not met within 14 days of travel you will receive a full refund, or you can elect to convert your reservation to a private or semi private session.

Wild Wasatch is designed for strong intermediate to expert snowboarders who want to expand where—and how—they can ride.

Maybe you’re comfortable on black terrain but still hesitate when the groomers disappear. Trees, steeps, powder, moguls, or variable snow might be the next part of the mountain you’re trying to unlock. If you’ve been curious about human-powered riding but aren’t ready to jump straight into a backcountry course, this is a great place to begin.

Or maybe you’re already an accomplished freerider. You seek out technical terrain, chase soft snow, and feel comfortable exploring the mountain—but you know there’s still another level. With expert coaching, unfamiliar terrain, and a group of capable riders around you, Wild Wasatch gives you an environment where your riding can continue to evolve.

You don’t need touring experience. Our optional human-powered day is an opportunity to experience splitboarding in a more approachable environment, with touring equipment provided. If you’d rather recover and prepare for the next day, you can use it as a rest day instead.

What matters most is that you arrive curious, coachable, physically prepared for consecutive days of riding, and excited to contribute to a small group pursuing progression together.

After you register, we’ll connect with you personally to learn more about your riding experience, goals, and comfort in different terrain. That helps us make sure you’re prepared for the session—and gives our coaches a head start on building an experience around the riders who are actually coming.

We take care of the details so you can stay focused on the riding, your progression, and the people you’re sharing it with.

  • 7 nights in our private Eden lodge — a 7,000+ square-foot home base with nine bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a private hot tub
  • 6 days on snow with Progression Sessions educators — expert coaching in small groups with a maximum 1:4 educator-to-rider ratio
  • Lift access at all three mountains — Nordic Valley, Powder Mountain, and Snowbasin access is included throughout the session
  • Daily breakfast and group dinners — breakfast prepared at the lodge each morning, with dinners split between evenings at home and local restaurants
  • Round-trip SLC airport transportation — airport transfers plus transportation between our lodge, mountains, and activities throughout the week
  • On- and off-snow progression — terrain-based coaching, individual goals, video analysis, evening review, and opportunities to learn from the riders around you
  • Human-powered riding experience — an introduction to earning your turns, with splitboard, skins, and poles—or snowshoes and poles—provided
  • Avalanche rescue fundamentals — an educational introduction to beacon searching and companion rescue in a controlled environment
  • Local experiences and seamless logistics — from Powder Mountain road laps to dinners around Eden, we handle the details that bring the week together
  • A custom Progression Sessions gift — something to take a little of the Wild Wasatch home with you

8 Days of Progression, Powder & Adventure

This is what a week in the Wild Wasatch can look like. Snow, weather, mountain operations, and the progression of the group ultimately determine where we ride each day. We choose terrain with intention, which means we’ll adjust the plan when better snow—or a better opportunity to learn—presents itself.

Day 1 — Saturday, February 27

Arrival in Eden

Welcome to Utah.

We’ll pick you up at Salt Lake City International Airport and make our way into the mountains to our private lodge in Eden. Once everyone is settled, we’ll share a welcome dinner, introduce the coaching team, dial in equipment, hear golas, and talk through the week ahead.

Plan to arrive at SLC between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, or meet us directly in Eden if you’re driving.

Day 2 — Sunday, February 28

Find Our Feet | Nordic Valley

After breakfast, we’ll start close to home at Nordic Valley.

The quieter mountain gives us room to ride together, experiment, and establish a baseline for the week. Coaches will get to know your riding while we explore groomers, trees, natural features, and whatever conditions give us to work with.

Later, we’ll shift gears for an introduction to avalanche rescue fundamentals, practicing beacon searches and companion rescue techniques in a controlled environment.

Day 3 — Monday, March 1

Expand the Playground | Powder Mountain

Now the mountain gets a whole lot bigger.

We’ll head to Powder Mountain and begin exploring its enormous network of groomers, trees, bowls, natural features, and off-piste terrain. Rather than following a predetermined lesson plan, coaches will use the terrain and conditions to identify opportunities for each group.

We’ll capture video throughout the day and bring it back to the lodge for our first full video review—connecting what you felt on the mountain with what you can actually see in your riding.

Day 4 — Tuesday, March 2

Explore the Fringes | Powder Mountain

With a day at Pow Mow behind us, it’s time to reach farther.

Depending on conditions and the group, that could mean exploring the terrain around Lightning Ridge, searching for lines through the trees, dropping into steeper chutes, or using Powder Country and Woody’s World to experience a completely different way of moving around a resort.

The goal is simple: use what we’ve been building to access more of the mountain.

Back at the lodge, recover with a stretch, soak in the hot tub, or simply put your feet up while we get dinner going.

Day 5 — Wednesday, March 3

Earn Your Turns | Human-Powered Day

Today, the lifts are optional.

We’ll introduce you to human-powered snowboarding within Powder Mountain’s patrolled and controlled touring terrain. Choose a splitboard setup or snowshoes score some wild turns and learn the fundamentals of moving uphill efficiently.

Touring equipment is provided, and no previous splitboarding experience is required. Experienced tourers are welcome to bring their own setup. And because six days of riding is a lot, this is also our built-in opportunity to recover. If your body is asking for a day off, listen to it.

Day 6 — Thursday, March 4

Level Up | Snowbasin

Now we take everything we’ve been working on to Snowbasin.

Three thousand vertical feet, fast lifts, long groomers, gullies, glades, bowls, natural features, and serious steeps give us an enormous canvas. Groups will use the mountain differently depending on their goals—whether that’s stronger carving, more efficient riding in variable snow, technical steeps, freestyle, or simply accessing terrain that would have felt intimidating earlier in the week.

We’ll return to Eden for dinner and our final video review, looking back at where your riding started and deciding where you want to take it tomorrow.

Day 7 — Friday, March 5

Choose Your Own Adventure | Snowbasin

The final day belongs to you.

By now, your coaches know your riding and you know the mountain. We’ll use that to build small groups around the kind of riding you want more of.

Ride the Gnarly — seek out hike-to terrain, technical steeps, chutes, and trees.
Carve with Style — use Snowbasin’s long groomers to chase speed, precision, power, and cleaner turns.
Find Some Air — explore the park and natural features, play with freestyle, and look for creative ways down the mountain.

Or maybe your progression points somewhere we haven’t listed. That’s the point.

We’ll bring everyone back together for a final party lap before heading to Carlos & Harley’s for our Wild Wasatch finale.

Day 8 — Saturday, March 6

Departure

Breakfast, hugs, high-fives, and one last look at the Wasatch.

Our airport shuttles will begin heading toward Salt Lake City in the morning, with the final shuttle leaving Eden at 11:00 AM. Please schedule departing flights for 9:00 AM or later based on your planned transportation.

How good of a snowboarder do I need to be?

Wild Wasatch is designed for strong intermediate through expert snowboarders. At minimum, you should be confident linking turns on black groomed terrain and ready to explore beyond it.

You don’t need to already be an accomplished freerider. That’s part of why we’re here. Our small groups allow us to match terrain and coaching to the riders in front of us while creating opportunities to progressively access more of the mountain.

After registration, we’ll connect with you personally to learn more about your experience, goals, and comfort in different terrain.

Do I need an IKON Pass?

No. Lift access is included throughout Wild Wasatch. If you already have an IKON Pass and use it for our Snowbasin days, you’ll receive a $350 discount on your registration.

Do I need splitboarding or touring experience?

No. Our human-powered day is designed to be approachable for riders who have never toured before. We’ll introduce the fundamentals of moving uphill and provide a splitboard, skins, and poles, or snowshoes and poles if you’d prefer. You’re also welcome to bring your own touring setup.

Are we going into the backcountry?

No. Our human-powered experience takes place within patrolled and controlled terrain at Powder Mountain.

Wild Wasatch can be a great introduction to human-powered riding, but it is not a backcountry course or avalanche certification program. We will not travel into uncontrolled avalanche terrain.

What avalanche education is included?

We’ll introduce the fundamentals of companion avalanche rescue, including how to use a beacon to locate a buried target and how to efficiently dig someone out.

The goal is to give you hands-on experience with rescue equipment and introduce concepts that become increasingly important as your riding expands beyond traditional lift-access terrain.

What if I don’t want to do the human-powered day?

That’s completely fine.

You can use the day to rest and recover, and weather or snow conditions may also lead us to change the plan. Six days on snow is a lot, and sometimes the best decision for your progression is giving your body a day off.

Is the itinerary guaranteed?

The experience is. The exact itinerary isn’t.

Snowfall, weather, mountain operations, and the needs of the group can all change where the best riding and learning opportunities are on a particular day. We intentionally maintain enough flexibility to make those calls throughout the week.

What’s the lodging setup?

Our group shares a 7,000+ square-foot private lodge in Eden, Utah, with nine bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a private hot tub.

Most participants will share a room. A limited number of private rooms are available for an additional fee and can be requested during registration, subject to availability.

What meals are included?

Breakfast and dinner are included each day.

Breakfast is prepared at the lodge each morning. Dinners are a mix of meals together at the house and visits to local restaurants, including our final-night celebration at Carlos & Harley’s.

Lunches are not included. Some adult beverages will be available at our lodge, while alcoholic beverages purchased at restaurants or elsewhere are at your own expense.

How does airport transportation work?

Round-trip transportation between Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and Eden is included.

For arrival on Saturday, February 27, plan to land at SLC between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We’ll coordinate shuttle timing with participants as the session approaches. On Saturday, March 6, our final shuttle will leave Eden for SLC at 11:00 AM.

You’re also welcome to drive directly to the lodge.

Do I need a rental car?

No. Once you’re with us, we handle transportation throughout the session, including travel between the lodge and the mountains.

What snowboard equipment should I bring?

Bring the snowboard setup you’d normally choose for freeriding: board, boots, bindings, helmet, and appropriate winter outerwear.

If you own equipment suited to powder or variable terrain, you’re welcome to bring it. Touring equipment for our human-powered experience is provided, although experienced splitboarders may bring their own setup.

What happens after I register?

We’ll reach out personally to learn more about your riding, goals, and experience. This helps us make sure Wild Wasatch is the right fit and gives our coaching team useful information before you ever arrive in Utah.

As the session approaches, we’ll also send the details you’ll need for travel, packing, lodging, airport transfers, and the week ahead.
