In this workshop we celebrate clean style and thoughtful decision making.
We direct our efforts at giving you the tools to self assess your skills in the moment, as well as read and understand a variety of features; so you’ll be making decisions that lead to stomping tricks rather than stacking slams. We take a layered approach to skill building in the terrain park, breaking down tricks to their core elements so you can refine each movement before putting the pieces back together on a feature. In this workshop we’ll cover:
- Park Safety and Etiquette
- ASTML (an acronym for understanding the sequence of a trick and it’s application to a feature)
- Understanding POP.. Ollie, Nollie, and Rebound
- Dynamic Base of Support.. Butters, Presses, etc.
- Starting and Stopping Rotation.. Ground Spins, 180-360 Airs, Slides, etc.
- Self Assessment.. so you know when to refine a trick, add a layer, or move back a step.
Whether you’re brand new to the terrain park, or hoping to finally stick that 180, this workshop is a great opportunity to build skills that will keep you progressing for years to come.
Our free SKI coach is Jesse Telian. He has been a ski instructor at Northstar California for the last ten seasons teaching private lessons and conducting free SKI clinics. “The sensation of that perfect jump, spin, or rail slide has always brought much enjoyment and adventure to my career.”
Jesse lives in Reno Nevada with his wife and two young boys. When he’s not in the terrain park, you’ll find him hanging with his family or swinging a golf club.

Sunday
Meet in the Lodge at 8:30am. We’ll spend the morning together as a large group, exploring the finer relationships that go into: creating rotation, bending our board, and setting a solid platform to “Trick” off of. Then we’ll head to the terrain park and explore the intricacies of reading a feature. In the afternoon we’ll split into small groups and style our way through some small goals based on your real skill that day. We’ll shoot video as well for later discussion off-snow.
Monday
Meet at 8:30am. We’ll start the day off in our small groups, warming up and revisiting the previous day’s lessons. We’ll then adjust our focus to a feature or trick we have not already explored. This could be a deep dive into a ground trick, a flat ride on rail, etc. allowing our ambitions and creativity to steer us through the day. We’ll finish off with a short celebration in the lodge, where you’ll have the opportunity to work with your coach on developing a plan for future progression.
