This workshop is designed to take your freestyle game to the next level! Through a wholistic approach to skill building (on snow and in the Wood Ward bunker) Our experienced coaches will push your mental game as much as your physical performance to ensure you are progressing with style and confidence.
To build your skills our experienced freestyle coaches will take advantage of:
- Real time video analysis, where your coach will capture video of your performance for immediate review on the chair.
- Off-snow group movement analysis, where you’ll learn how to break down your ideal tricks into achievable sequential pieces.
- Indoor trampoline and park boards session, where we’ll utilize the Woodward Bunker develop movements and air awareness with less consequence.
- Peer to peer coaching, where you’ll learn how to thoughtfully propel your friends performance while managing their fears.
- Self Assessment and the FLOW State.. so you know when to refine a trick, add a layer, or move back a step.
Whether you’re looking to add a grab to your backside 180, or hoping to unlock the confidence to pop that Wildcat, this workshop is a great opportunity to build skills that will keep you progressing for years to come. We build groups daily based on each persons existing skill and experience so you’ll be learning at a perfect pace.
This workshop is designed for advanced snowboarders who can confidently hit small to medium park features. Sunday
Meet in the Lodge at 9:30am. We are starting our day off by warming it up in the Woodward Bunker, this indoor playground of trampolines, tumbling mats, park jumps, and foam pits, is the perfect stage to get our body and mind aligned with our ambitions. Around 11:30 we’ll take a short break and grab a snack before hitting the snow!
Our focus this day is “completing features” consistently landing in the sweet spot, sliding the rail to the end, etc. We’ll take our time to understand the approach, speed, and flow of a variety of jumps and jibs in the park. From there we’ll dial in our line to develop consistency on the feature, in doing so we’ll be refining tricks we already know to a new level of style and amplitude. With a later start expect to be finishing up around 5:30pm
Monday
Meet at 8:30am. We’ll start the day off in our small groups, warming up and revisiting the previous day’s lessons. We’ll then adjust our focus to a single feature or trick. This could be a deep dive into a complex ground trick, spinning onto a rail, catching air over the medium jump, etc. allowing our ambitions and creativity to steer us through the day. At lunch we’ll gather as a larger group for an indoor Movement Analysis session fueled by videos of your performance, before a final push on snow to stomp that trick! We’ll finish off the whole workshop with a short celebration in the lodge, where you’ll have the opportunity to share what you’ve learned.
