In this second instalment of our “off-piste” series we up the challenge by approaching some of the BIG LINES at Palisades Tahoe. We’ll ride various mogul lines on KT-22, the chutes off of Headwall, hike Granite Chief Peak, slash and drop our way down Broken Arrow, jib the trees in Poulson’s Gully, etc. The focus for this workshop is to push your existing skill to the next level while safely promoting continuity and flow in EXTREME terrain. In this workshop you’ll learn how to:
- Handle a drop and the run out
- Use available contours to control speed
- Make a plan based on snow conditions
- Communication tactics that promote safety and access
- Anticipate recovery points and react proactively
- Create a moving platform so you can adapt to changes while maintaining flow
If you want the skills to safely start exploring extreme terrain, or your working to pass your AASI L3 Ride, this workshop is a must. This is also a great workshop to attend as preparation for one of our off-piste tours in Chile or Colorado. We build groups based on each riders ability, pairing participants with riders of similar skill, so regardless of your experience you’ll be in a group designed to match your pace.
This workshop is designed for advanced to expert snowboarders with experience riding black off-piste terrain. This workshop has a minimum participation of 4 persons to operate, if minimum participation is not met within 14 days of the start date you will receive a full refund.
