Snowboarding in Eden, Utah: Your Gateway to the Wild Wasatch
Eden, Utah is a hidden gem about an hour north of Salt Lake City. This peaceful valley, framed by the Wasatch Mountains, sits at the heart of three incredible ski areas: Nordic Valley, Powder Mountain, and Snowbasin. Long considered a powder chaser’s paradise, Eden offers unmatched terrain diversity, abundant wildlife, and a community deeply connected to nature. While development is slowly changing the landscape, for now Eden remains a true utopia—heaven on earth for snowboarders. It’s here that we’ll help you build your skills, expand your mountain awareness, and find your own snowy nirvana in the Wild Wasatch.
Our adventure starts at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), where we’ll pick you up and shuttle you straight to our private lodge in Eden, Utah. (Prefer driving? You can also meet us directly at the lodge—plenty of parking, no stress.)
Yes, our lodge has it all: a hot tub, theater room, and plenty of space to relax after big days on the mountain.
Over six full days, we’ll explore the best snowboard terrain in Utah, combining education and real-time progression. Each day builds on the last—whether you’re slashing through open aspen trees, dropping cornices, navigating chutes, or practicing avalanche beacon drills. You’ll even have the chance to earn your turns on a backcountry tour.
Here’s where we ride:
Powder Mountain (Pow Mow)
Nicknamed Pow Mow by locals, Powder Mountain is one of the largest ski resorts in North America, with 8,000+ acres of rideable terrain. Known for its uncrowded slopes and consistent fresh powder, Pow Mow limits daily lift ticket sales to keep lines short and stashes untouched. The core of Pow Mow’s lift serviced terrain consists of gladded aspen groves, open bowls, and huge rolling groomers, which are flanked by two giant ridges, Lightening Ridge and Raintree Ridge, these ridges have everything a free rider could ask for, from open powder bowls, to steep trees an tight chutes, which are accessed by a brand new quad chair or a small hike. Lastly there’s Powder Country and Woody’s World, 1,200 acres of resort to road runs accessed by a 4WD bus that takes you back to the lifts after your decent.
Snowbasin Resort
Snowbasin is a massive resort of 3000+ Acres and 3000ft of vertical that was planned to perfection! The lifts are fast and comfortable, the lodges are built for luxury, the grooming is perfect, the parks are dialed, and the off-piste is an expansive array of glades, gullies, moguls, open bowls, and double black steeps that will challenge even the most experienced riders. However since this jewel of a resort has no on sight lodging and is further away from SLC than Snowbird or Park City it remains relatively unclouded compared to Utah’s marquee resorts. This makes it the perfect complement to Pow Mow—pushing your freeride skills onto more technical lines.
Nordic Valley
Just down the road from our lodge, Nordic Valley is small but mighty, with 500 acres of skiable terrain and a 1,700-foot vertical rise. Nordic’s laid-back vibe and variety—glades, groomers, and a terrain park—make it the perfect warm-up and storm-day destination.
Après & Off-Hill Fun
Each morning begins with hearty, home-cooked breakfasts to fuel your day. In the evenings, we mix it up with family-style feasts at our lodge and culinary adventures at local restaurants. Off the snow, progression continues through video sessions and technical discussions, while downtime brings balance with game nights, stretch sessions, hot tub hangs, and more. This balance of coaching, culture, and community ensures you leave not just a better rider, but with unforgettable memories of the Wasatch.

After a late lunch, we’ll reunite for an introductory avalanche safety clinic covering beacon use, probes, shovels, and what to do in the event of a slide. Dinner will be in town, where we’ll break into small groups to plan our first full day at Powder Mountain.
Day 3 – Monday: Off-Piste Fundamentals at Powder Mountain
Today we dive into Powder Mountain’s legendary terrain, focusing on the fundamentals you’ll need to explore off-piste. Coaches will capture video of your riding in different environments for review later at the lodge.
After dinner, you’ll analyze your riding with your coach on the big screen, gaining actionable feedback to sharpen your style, efficiency, and confidence.
Day 4 – Tuesday: Exploring the Fringes
We’ll start with a warm-up before pushing deeper into Powder Mountain’s hidden terrain off Raintree and Woody’s World. The day culminates on Lightning Ridge, home to Pow Mow’s most advanced terrain—open bowls, tight trees, chutes, and drops—with lines for every level.
Evening options include a coach-led stretch session, self-guided sunset laps, or relaxing while our team prepares a backyard BBQ feast at the lodge.
Day 5 – Wednesday: Human-Powered Adventure
After breakfast, you’ll have the chance to experience the Wasatch at a slower pace with a splitboard or snowshoe backcountry tour into Pow Mow’s Lefty’s Canyon. If the weather is stormy, we’ll pivot to lift-access laps at Nordic Valley. Or, if your body needs rest, today is the perfect recovery day.
In the evening, we’ll head into Ogden for a refined dining experience.
