Any trick, turn, or maneuver on a snowboard can be broken down and explained through fundamental skills, and the better we understand these skills the more efficiently we’ll ride. Through in-depth examination of the 6 snowboard fundamentals, on snow movement analysis, and detailed off snow video analysis, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how subtle body movements relate to snowboarding outcomes in a big way. By the end of the session you’ll be better prepared to make thoughtful adjustments to your own riding, leading to less repeat injuries, more progression, and ultimately more FUN!

Coaches for this event will be:

Sonja Wenzel – L3 snowboard Instructor of 15 years, Northstar at Tahoe Instructor Trainer.

Chris Hargrave – AASI National Team Alumni, and Olympic Halfpipe and Slopestyle Coach.

Eric Espinoza – AASI-W Ed Staff, Competitive Freestyle Coach, From Colorado, New Zealand, California, and Japan, if there’s a style you want to understand he’s your guy.

Joshua Thompson-Bourrie – Head Coach and Founder of Progression Sessions, AASI-W Head Trainer/Examiner, and the guy responsible for writing this overview.

We scheduled this event in May to take advantage of the Northwest’s best “Second Winter” destination. When most ski areas are pairing down or switching off, Timberline is actually expanding their operations hosting; 4+ terrain parks (including a halfpipe); 4,500 vertical ft. of lift driven sliding from the top of Palmer to our Lodge, wide open groomers, and plentiful backcountry opportunities above and beyond the lifts.
